I love that summer takes it’s sweet ol’ time leaving us down here in New Orleans. While the rest of the country is celebrating the beginning of the fall breezes, we get a few more weeks — or months depending on the year — of above 80 temperatures and tank tops.
This summer has been particularly warm because it’s rained almost everyday. That’s been hard on the boys because they haven’t been able to get outside as much and meet friends in our new neighborhood.
So, when we finally got a clear day (or so we thought) we worked on getting out and inviting some of the neighborhood kids over for a backyard day-camping party.
As soon as we got a good fire going, the clouds rolled in. Leave it to New Orleans weather to go from clear and sunny to dark and thundery in under an hour. It’s a great thing we made our s’mores first! I lucked up and found vegan marshmallows and chocolate chips on sale!
Our little friends had to run home but our boys brought the party inside and turned it into a Star Wars themed throw down! lol! I was so glad to have lots of WaterWipes on hand to avoid the sticky messes that would have been guaranteed with so much chocolate and marshmallows.
Too bad I wasn’t quick enough to catch nugget before he wiped his little fingers on the walls. I love that WaterWipes are sturdy enough to handle giving them a good scrub without ripping. Plus, the ingredients are so pure I didn’t have to worry about him going right back to his mouth with any harmful chemical residue on his tiny fingers. The solution is 99.9% pure Irish water and .1% grapefruit extract. It gets no cleaner than that!
Even though the kids didn’t stay, I made sure to send them home with their treat buckets and WaterWipes to give to their moms to try out.
We had a great time right in our backyard. Of course the guys wanted to sleep outside in the yard that night but mama was NOT having it!
